En septembre 2014, c\u2019\u00e9tait au tour du\u00a0Palais de Tokyo\u00a0de convertir mille m\u00e8tres carr\u00e9s de surface b\u00e9tonn\u00e9e de son sol et de ses murs en d\u2019immenses \u00e9crans o\u00f9 quelques mille deux cent images fixes et mouvantes \u2013 extraits de films d\u2019archives, de r\u00e9pertoires ou d’actualit\u00e9, photographies d\u2019\u0153uvres picturales anciennes et actuelles, photographies contemporaines \u2013 r\u00e9gis par un dispositif m\u00e9diatique dans un concept sc\u00e9nographique con\u00e7u par Georges Didi-Huberman et Arno Gisinger, proposaient une d\u00e9ambulation dans le lacis de l\u2019histoire des images. Cette installation intitul\u00e9e\u00a0Mn\u00e9mosyne 42\u00a0<\/em>rendait hommage \u00e0 la Planche 42 de l\u2019Atlas Mn\u00e9mosyne (d\u00e9esse de la m\u00e9moire) con\u00e7u par Aby Warburg dans les ann\u00e9es 1920, qu\u2019il avait intitul\u00e9e\u00a0Pathos de la douleur<\/em>\u00a0sur le th\u00e8me des lamentations des morts. Cette installation traite ainsi de la vie fantomatique des images dont notre pr\u00e9sent, autant que notre m\u00e9moire \u2013 historique ou artistique \u2013 est constitu\u00e9e. Elle fait suite aux deux premi\u00e8res versions, soit\u00a0Histoire de fant\u00f4mes pour grandes personnes<\/em>pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e en 2012 au Fresnoy \u00e0 Tourcoing, et\u00a0Atlas\u00a0\u2013\u00a0Comment porter le monde sur son dos\u00a0?<\/em>, pr\u00e9sent\u00e9es successivement \u00e0 Madrid, Karlsruhe et Hambourg, en 2011.
